D3.2 - Sub-System Prototype for On-chip in-line UV Extinction Coefficient

The SMART-NANO consortium developed a sensitive UV absorption module for the detection of nanoparticles. The system was demonstrated with in-line absorption measurements of water samples containing titanium dioxide, gold and silver nanoparticles. The advantages of the system are the compact optical design, the wavelength tunability between 200 nm and 470 nm, and the cost-effective and easily replaceable flow-through cartridge. In the coming months, the UV detection system will be made available to the SMART-NANO project partners for further testing.
